Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Architect to join our dynamic team in Sheffield, England. This is an exceptional opportunity for an architect who is passionate about innovative design, sustainable practices, and delivering high-quality projects across diverse sectors. As a key member of our architectural team, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, developing, and delivering projects from inception through to completion, ensuring design integrity, technical accuracy, and adherence to UK building regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong design sensibility, excellent technical skills, and a proven ability to manage projects effectively. You will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams, translating visions into buildable realities. We are open to considering candidates who require Tier 2 Visa sponsorship, demonstrating our commitment to attracting global talent. You will be expected to contribute to all stages of the architectural process, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, detailed technical design, contractor liaison, and post-completion evaluations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to architectural design projects from concept to completion across various sectors.
- Develop detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using industry-standard software.
- Ensure all designs comply with UK building regulations, planning policies, and relevant industry standards.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful delivery within agreed parameters.
- Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and feasibility studies to stakeholders.
- Undertake site visits, surveys, and inspections to monitor progress and address design-related issues.
- Mentor junior architectural staff and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Participate in business development activities, including preparing bids and presentations.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification architectural experience.
- Proficiency in architectural design software, including Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations, British Standards, and planning legislation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
- A strong portfolio showcasing diverse project experience and design capabilities.
- Eligibility for or current holding of ARB registration in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- RIBA Part III qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with sustainable design principles and BREEAM/Passivhaus standards.
- Experience in a client-facing role, managing stakeholder expectations.
- Proficiency in 3D visualization and rendering software (e.g., SketchUp, Enscape, V-Ray).
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) workflows.
- Project management certification or equivalent experience.
