Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Radiographer to join our dedicated Imaging & Scan Operations team in Sheffield. Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including General Radiography and Fluoroscopy, adhering to best practice guidelines and departmental protocols.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of patients throughout the imaging process, including accurate patient identification, consent, and appropriate radiation protection measures.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and equipment functionality, and reporting any faults promptly.
- Accurately position patients for examinations, ensuring their comfort and dignity are maintained at all times.
- Process and review images, ensuring all relevant clinical information is captured and images meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate timely and accurate diagnoses.
- Maintain precise patient records and uphold confidentiality in line with GDPR and company policies.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance programmes, audits, and continuous professional development activities.
- Provide clear and compassionate explanations of procedures to patients, addressing any concerns they may have.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
Required Skills
- Degree or Diploma in Radiography.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a Radiographer.
- Proven experience in General Radiography and Fluoroscopy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Strong understanding of radiation protection regulations and patient safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems and PACS.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in other imaging modalities such as CT or MRI.
- Previous experience working within a private healthcare setting.
- Evidence of participation in clinical audit or service improvement projects.
- Advanced certifications or postgraduate qualifications in a related field.
