Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Zoom Video Conferencing Specialist to join our technology team in Lawrence, Kansas. In an increasingly connected world, effective communication and seamless collaboration are paramount to our global operations. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our Zoom video conferencing systems and related Audio/Visual (AV) technologies across our facilities. You will be the go-to expert for all Zoom-related needs, providing essential support, technical troubleshooting, and system maintenance to empower our employees to connect and collaborate effortlessly.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Zoom’s platform, including its advanced features, integrations, and best practices for large-scale enterprise deployment. You will play a pivotal role in the setup, configuration, and proactive monitoring of our video conferencing environments, ensuring high-quality, uninterrupted service for critical business meetings, client interactions, and internal communications. This position requires a proactive problem-solver with excellent technical acumen and strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical users. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level technical support for all Zoom Video Conferencing services, including meeting, webinar, room systems (Zoom Rooms), and general platform usage.
- Perform setup, configuration, and testing of video conferencing equipment and software in meeting rooms and individual workstations.
- Proactively monitor Zoom system performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve technical problems efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Conduct training sessions and create user guides for employees on effective use of Zoom features and best practices.
- Manage and maintain inventory of AV equipment related to video conferencing, ensuring all systems are up-to-date and fully functional.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure and network teams to ensure optimal network connectivity and bandwidth for high-quality video conferencing.
- Stay informed about new Zoom features, updates, and industry trends to recommend and implement improvements.
- Assist in the planning and execution of large-scale virtual events and high-profile meetings, providing on-site or remote technical support.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with Zoom Video Conferencing platform (Zoom Meetings, Zoom Webinars, Zoom Rooms)
- Strong understanding of audio/visual (AV) equipment, including microphones, cameras, displays, and control systems.
- Experience with network protocols relevant to video conferencing (SIP, H.323, TCP/IP).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for technical issues.
- Ability to provide clear and patient technical support to end-users.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Zoom Certified Associate (ZCA) or other relevant AV/IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+).
- Experience with other collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Google Meet).
- Knowledge of ITIL framework for service management.
