Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate loan applications by assessing applicants' financial status, creditworthiness, and repayment ability.
- Interview applicants to determine their financial needs and recommend appropriate loan products.
- Explain to clients the different types of loans and credit options available, as well as the terms and conditions.
- Process loan applications, including verifying information, calculating debt-to-income ratios, and submitting to credit committees.
- Monitor loan repayment activities and address overdue accounts or potential defaults proactively.
- Maintain a portfolio of existing clients, nurturing relationships to identify opportunities for additional financial services.
- Actively engage in business development activities to attract new clients and expand the bank's loan portfolio.
- Ensure strict compliance with all internal bank policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Loan Officer or similar role in the banking sector.
- Strong understanding of loan products, credit analysis, and financial assessment principles.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in banking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIBN certification).
- Familiarity with the Abuja financial market and client base.
