Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive credit assessments for new and existing clients, analyzing financial statements, cash flow projections, and business models.
  • Prepare detailed credit proposals and present recommendations to senior management and credit committees.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential credit risks in line with Westpac's credit policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor client portfolios for changes in financial condition or market trends that may impact credit risk.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting credit risk management.
  • Collaborate with sales and relationship managers to structure appropriate credit solutions for clients.
  • Ensure all credit decisions and documentation comply with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of credit processes and risk management frameworks.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders regarding credit terms and conditions.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit analysis or a related financial services role.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial statements and business models.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk principles, lending products, and financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
