Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a robust client base through proactive prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial needs analyses to understand clients' current financial situations and future goals.
  • Design, implement, and monitor personalized financial plans, including investment strategies, retirement planning, education savings, tax planning, and insurance solutions.
  • Educate clients on various financial products, services, and market trends, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Regularly review client portfolios and financial plans, making adjustments as necessary to align with changing circumstances and market conditions.
  • Provide exceptional client service, fostering long-term relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic developments that impact financial planning.
  • Adhere strictly to all compliance requirements and ethical standards set by regulatory bodies and IG Wealth Management.
  • Collaborate with internal specialists (e.g., tax, estate, insurance) to provide integrated solutions for complex client needs.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial services, preferably in wealth management or financial advisory roles.
  • Proven ability to acquire new clients and grow a book of business.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, insurance, and financial planning principles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with diverse clients.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Valid securities licensing (e.g., Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Wealth Management Essentials (WME) or equivalent).
  • Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation or working towards it.
  • University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Existing client base or strong local network in the Langley, BC area.
  • Experience with financial planning software and CRM systems.
