Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both internal and external, during assigned night shifts.
- Monitor surveillance equipment (CCTV) and alarm systems for any unusual activity.
- Deter theft, vandalism, and other illicit activities through visible presence and proactive measures.
- Control access points, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter and exit the property.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms or emergency situations, following established protocols.
- Document and report all incidents, irregularities, and security breaches in detail.
- Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are securely locked and unlocked at appropriate times.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed during critical incidents.
- Maintain a comprehensive logbook of shift activities, observations, and visitor movements.
- Provide a safe and secure environment for staff working late shifts or arriving early.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a security or watchman role, preferably in a retail or commercial setting.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure or during emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and documentation.
- Basic understanding of security procedures, surveillance equipment, and alarm systems.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in security operations or basic first aid.
- Previous experience with electronic security systems (CCTV, access control).
