Job Description
UPS is seeking dedicated and energetic Warehouse Workers to join our team at the Worldport air hub in Louisville, Kentucky. As a Warehouse Worker, you will play a crucial role in the efficient processing and movement of packages, ensuring they reach their destinations accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from trailers, ensuring proper handling and placement.
- Sort packages manually and with the aid of automated systems according to destination.
- Scan packages accurately using handheld devices and enter relevant information.
- Operate various material handling equipment safely and efficiently, if certified/trained.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Identify and report any damaged packages or operational issues.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality standards.
- Lift and move packages weighing up to 70 lbs (without assistance) and heavier packages with assistance.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic comprehension and communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Worldport facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical labor role.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
