Job Description

UPS is currently seeking dedicated Part-Time Warehouse Workers to join our team at the state-of-the-art Chicago Area Consolidation Hub (CACH) facility. As a Warehouse Worker, you will be an essential part of our logistics operations, responsible for efficiently moving and sorting packages to ensure timely delivery to our customers across the globe. This role involves a variety of tasks, including loading and unloading trailers, scanning packages, and ensuring that our operational flow is seamless. Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload packages from trailers and feeder trucks, by hand and with the aid of manual package moving equipment.
  • Sort and scan packages according to destination, ensuring proper handling and placement.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the warehouse.
  • Operate manual pallet jacks and other equipment as required (training provided).
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and productivity targets.
  • Inspect packages for damages and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Prepare packages for outbound shipping, ensuring they meet weight and dimension requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (without assistance) and maneuver heavier packages with assistance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic literacy skills (ability to read labels and numbers).
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical labor role.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience operating manual pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
