Job Description

As a Warehouse Tote Packer, you will be an integral part of our distribution center located in Westfort, Thunder Bay, playing a critical role in ensuring that our valued customers—from local restaurants to healthcare facilities—receive their orders accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately select, pack, and label food service products into totes or boxes according to specific customer orders and quality standards.
- Verify product quantities and descriptions against picking lists to ensure order accuracy and completeness.
- Operate manual or powered material handling equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., pallet jacks), if required and after receiving proper training.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, strictly adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, including food safety guidelines.
- Perform repetitive tasks with precision, speed, and consistent quality, contributing to overall operational efficiency.
- Inspect products for any signs of damage, discrepancies, or expiration dates and promptly report any issues to supervisors.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
- Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and maintaining proper product organization within the warehouse as needed.
- Ensure all packed totes are properly staged for outbound loading, following designated procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including regularly lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and product handling.
- Basic literacy (ability to read and understand packing lists, product labels, and safety instructions in English).
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic and commitment to team success.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic warehouse environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics setting, particularly in packing or order selection roles.
- Experience using an RF scanner or similar inventory management tools.
- Familiarity with food safety and handling procedures (HACCP or similar).
