Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor (Supervisor de Armazém) for an immediate start to join our growing team in Maputo. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety in our bustling logistics environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse personnel, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training and mentorship.
  • Oversee the receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain strict inventory control procedures, conducting regular stock counts, reconciling discrepancies, and optimizing storage space utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and operational guidelines to maintain a safe and organized working environment.
  • Operate and oversee the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) for efficient tracking and reporting of inventory movements and operational status.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including transport, procurement, and customer service, to ensure smooth and timely execution of logistics operations.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on warehouse activities, performance metrics, and inventory levels for management review.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall warehouse productivity.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Solid understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
  • Fluent in Portuguese (written and spoken) is essential for effective communication with local teams and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment, with relevant certification.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English (written and spoken) to facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma principles).
