Job Description
Are you a highly organized and driven logistics professional with a proven track record in warehouse management? Kamoto Copper Company (KCC) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Warehouse Supervisor to join our dynamic logistics team in Kolwezi, Lualaba Province. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in overseeing the daily operations of our expansive warehouses, ensuring the efficient, safe, and accurate handling of a vast array of materials, equipment, and spare parts vital to our world-class mining operations. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will lead a team of dedicated warehouse personnel, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and continuous improvement. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining optimal inventory levels, implementing best practices for material receipt, storage, and dispatch, and upholding stringent quality and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, dispatch, and inventory control of mining materials and spare parts.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, operational procedures, and productivity targets.
- Implement and maintain robust inventory management systems to ensure accuracy, minimize losses, and optimize stock levels.
- Oversee the proper handling, storage, and labeling of hazardous materials in compliance with all safety regulations.
- Conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies and investigating root causes.
- Collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure timely material availability and seamless supply chain flow.
- Monitor warehouse performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) are maintained, operated safely, and regularly inspected.
- Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse operations, inventory status, and team performance.
- Champion safety culture within the warehouse, conducting regular safety briefings and enforcing strict adherence to KCC's safety standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse supervision or a similar logistics role, preferably in an industrial or mining environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and systems (e.g., ERP systems like SAP or similar).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Knowledge of French or Swahili is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with SAP MM (Materials Management) module.
- Experience operating various types of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, reach trucks) with valid certification.
- Prior experience working in the Democratic Republic of Congo or similar challenging operational environments.
