CJ Logistics America is looking for a dedicated and resilient Warehouse Operative to join our team on an Overseas Contract. This unique role is based out of our Elk Grove Village, IL facility for initial training and deployment preparation, but involves significant and extended assignments in international locations, often in diverse and challenging environments. As an Overseas Contract Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of warehousing activities – from meticulous receiving and precise inventory control to secure storage and timely dispatch – all while adhering to the highest international standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive warehouse operations including receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials according to established procedures and international standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliations in international settings.
  • Operate various material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently, adhering to all local and international safety regulations.
  • Prepare all necessary documentation for international shipments, including customs forms, manifests, and hazardous materials declarations, ensuring compliance.
  • Implement and enforce strict quality control measures for all incoming and outgoing goods, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse international teams, local partners, and customs officials to facilitate smooth logistical flows.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and local/international legal requirements, including those specific to overseas deployment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in international logistics and cultural awareness.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, both domestically and during overseas assignments.
  • Provide regular reports on operational status, challenges, and solutions to management.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of proven experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift certification preferred).
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging and dynamic environments.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks required in a warehouse setting.
  • Possession of a valid passport and eligibility for international travel and long-term overseas assignments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to new cultures and operational procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or military supply chain operations.
  • Familiarity with international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to common overseas deployment locations.
  • Certifications in hazardous materials handling (e.g., IATA, IMDG).
