Job Description
Red Star Express Plc is seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Warehouse Loader to join our night duty team within the crucial delivery section in Ikeja, Lagos. This is a full-time, on-site role perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to ensuring timely and accurate delivery operations. As a Warehouse Loader, you will be an indispensable part of our logistics chain, responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of goods destined for distribution. Your primary duties will involve handling a wide variety of packages, parcels, and freight items, preparing them for dispatch, and ensuring they are secured properly in delivery vehicles. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team under the pressure of tight deadlines during night shifts. You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our delivery process, ensuring that shipments are sorted, scanned, and loaded correctly to meet our customers’ expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload a variety of packages, parcels, and freight items from vehicles, containers, and designated areas.
- Sort and stage incoming and outgoing shipments accurately according to destination and delivery routes.
- Verify product quantities against manifests and packing lists, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and proficiently.
- Ensure all goods are properly secured, wrapped, and protected to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse, especially in the delivery section.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and equipment operation.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily loading and dispatch targets.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse-related tasks as required.
- Perform duties diligently during night shifts, ensuring the smooth flow of goods for early morning deliveries.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate sorting and verification of shipments.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled night shifts.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physically demanding role.
- High School Leaving Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Prior experience with pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with scanning systems and basic inventory management processes.
- Understanding of logistics and delivery operations.
