Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload incoming and outgoing delivery trucks using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc., after training).
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming inventory against purchase orders, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper rotation and accessibility.
- Accurately pick and stage customer orders for delivery or customer pickup, double-checking quantities and product types.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, adhering strictly to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Perform routine inventory counts and assist in resolving any stock variances.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks safely and responsibly after receiving proper certification and training.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting contractors with loading materials and answering basic product questions when needed.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations and meet branch goals.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects regularly (up to 75 lbs) and perform strenuous physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions if materials are stored outdoors.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or general labor role (even if not specific to building materials).
- Forklift certification or previous experience operating warehouse equipment.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
