Job Description

GIG Logistics is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Dispatcher to join our dynamic team in Ikeja, Lagos. This vital role involves overseeing the efficient dispatch of goods from our warehouse, coordinating transportation, and ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to strict operational protocols and safety standards. As a Warehouse Dispatcher, you will be at the heart of our operations, managing the flow of goods from our facility to their final destinations. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and dispatch vehicles for pick-up and delivery services efficiently, considering routes, traffic, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor real-time movement of vehicles and goods using tracking systems, ensuring timely departures and arrivals.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions, support, and updates throughout their routes.
- Liaise with warehouse supervisors to ensure proper staging and loading of goods, maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues related to delivery delays, changes, or discrepancies promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records, logs, and reports, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Optimize delivery routes to reduce fuel consumption and operational costs while maintaining service quality.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline logistics operations and improve overall efficiency.
- Perform shift handovers meticulously, ensuring all critical information is accurately communicated to the incoming dispatcher.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or fleet management.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and GPS tracking systems.
- Excellent knowledge of Lagos road networks and geographical areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND/B.Sc. in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems related to logistics.
