Job Description

BlueLinx is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Coordinator with a strong focus on Stock Management to join our robust operations team in Windward, Alpharetta. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our inventory, ensuring that our supply chain operates with maximum efficiency and reliability. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily stock management processes, from receiving and quality control to storage, picking, and shipping, ensuring that all inventory movements are accurately recorded and reconciled within our Warehouse Management System (WMS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for all incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory counts, investigating and reconciling any discrepancies promptly.
  • Oversee the receiving process, ensuring all inbound shipments are verified against purchase orders, inspected for quality, and accurately put away.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and product placement for efficient storage, retrieval, and order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods.
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and enforce FIFO/LIFO strategies as required to manage product rotation and minimize obsolescence.
  • Collaborate with procurement and sales departments to forecast inventory needs and manage stock levels proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse environment.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior warehouse staff on best practices for stock management and inventory accuracy.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations or inventory management.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts (certification preferred or ability to obtain).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Physical stamina to work in a dynamic warehouse environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with SAP or Oracle WMS modules.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Prior experience in the building materials distribution industry.
