As a Warehouse Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily activities of our branch, supporting everything from receiving shipments to preparing outgoing orders. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Accurately pick, pack, and stage outgoing orders for customer pickup or delivery.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse, ensuring products are stored in designated locations and readily accessible.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Load and unload delivery trucks and customer vehicles with landscape materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members, sales staff, and management to ensure smooth branch operations and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with general branch upkeep and maintenance as needed.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a warehouse, retail, or similar environment
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) regularly
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Basic computer literacy (for inventory systems and order processing)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification or previous experience operating material handling equipment
- Experience with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, WMS)
- Knowledge of landscape products or the green industry
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
