Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspection, cleaning, pressing, and steaming of costumes and accessories to ensure pristine condition.
- Execute minor repairs, alterations, and adjustments to costumes as needed, including sewing, mending, and patching.
- Organize and maintain costume inventory, ensuring all items are accounted for and stored properly according to Disney standards.
- Assist performers with costume changes, ensuring comfort, proper fit, and timely transitions.
- Launder and dry-clean costumes using appropriate methods and equipment, adhering to fabric care guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized wardrobe area, including dressing rooms and storage facilities.
- Collaborate with wardrobe supervisors and production teams to prepare costumes for rehearsals and performances.
- Track costume usage, damage, and maintenance needs, reporting significant issues to management.
- Uphold strict hygiene and safety standards for all costume handling and care procedures.
- Provide exceptional support to performers, contributing to a positive and professional work environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in costume maintenance, theatrical wardrobe, or garment care.
- Proficiency in basic hand and machine sewing techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift and move costume racks and equipment, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
