Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, and vacuuming carpets throughout the store.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly, ensuring they are well-stocked with paper products and soap.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas, adhering to recycling guidelines.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors to maintain a sparkling appearance.
- Dust and polish fixtures, shelving, and other surfaces to prevent build-up.
- Maintain cleanliness of breakrooms, offices, fitting rooms, and other common areas used by associates and customers.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners safely and efficiently.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to management promptly.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with immediate clean-up of spills and other unexpected cleaning needs as they arise.
- Maintain supply closets in an organized manner and ensure cleaning supplies are replenished.
- Support the overall store team in ensuring a clean and safe environment for all customers and associates.
- Follow daily cleaning schedules and complete assigned tasks within specified timeframes.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing all cleaning tasks.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 25 lbs, and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and management.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a cleaning or janitorial role, preferably within a retail or commercial environment.
- Familiarity with operating industrial cleaning equipment.
