Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process and prepare pharmaceutical orders, ensuring adherence to all safety and quality protocols.
- Manage and maintain pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating supplies to minimize waste.
- Assist with the accurate input and processing of patient information and prescription details into pharmacy systems.
- Support prescription adjudication and resolve basic billing inquiries under pharmacist supervision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment, following all regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices.
- Adhere to all provincial and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to pharmacy practice.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification in Nova Scotia
- Registration in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists (or eligible for registration)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a professional setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and general computer skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pharmaceutical wholesale or distribution processes
- Familiarity with various prescription insurance plans and adjudication systems
- Knowledge of sterile and non-sterile compounding techniques
