Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card, and other payment methods responsibly and securely.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product location.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including stocking bags and other necessary supplies.
- Promote Walgreens' loyalty programs and inform customers about current promotions and sales.
- Assist with basic merchandising tasks, such as straightening shelves and ensuring product displays are tidy.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and a positive shopping environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to loss prevention and safety.
- Support pharmacy and front-end operations as needed, maintaining a helpful attitude.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle transactions with precision.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency for operating POS systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role, particularly as a cashier.
- Familiarity with Walgreens products and services.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus in the Miami area.
