As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will be the heart of our volunteer efforts, responsible for recruiting, training, engaging, and retaining volunteers across a diverse range of projects. You will ensure that our volunteers are well-placed, well-supported, and feel valued, enabling them to make the greatest possible impact. Your role will involve close collaboration with project managers and team leaders to identify volunteer needs, develop engaging roles, and integrate volunteer contributions seamlessly into our service delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for volunteer recruitment, induction, training, and retention tailored to specific NGO projects.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all volunteers, providing ongoing support, guidance, and recognition.
  • Collaborate with project managers to identify volunteer needs and develop clear, impactful volunteer role descriptions.
  • Manage the volunteer database, ensuring accurate records, compliance with data protection, and reporting on volunteer impact.
  • Organise and facilitate regular volunteer meetings, appreciation events, and training sessions.
  • Ensure all volunteer activities comply with Framework's policies, procedures, and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer programmes, gathering feedback and implementing improvements.
  • Promote Framework's volunteering opportunities through various channels, including social media, local events, and partnerships.
  • Address any volunteer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive culture for all volunteers.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in volunteer coordination or a similar role within the non-profit sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems or volunteer management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting diverse individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, inspire, and manage volunteers effectively.
  • Commitment to Framework's values and mission.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for travel within Nottinghamshire (desirable but not essential).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in volunteer management, community development, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults or individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Experience in project coordination or management.
