Job Description

African Independent Television (AIT) is seeking an experienced and highly creative Videographer to join our dynamic production team in Port Harcourt. This isn’t just a camera operator role; we’re looking for a creative partner who can conceptualize, shoot, and edit compelling video content that resonates with our diverse audience. As a Videographer – Creative/Production, you will be instrumental in all stages of video production, from initial concept development and storyboarding to on-location shooting and sophisticated post-production. You’ll work on a wide array of projects, including news features, documentaries, promotional videos, and special broadcasts, contributing significantly to AIT’s mission of delivering high-quality, engaging content. Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize, plan, and execute video shoots from start to finish, including pre-production planning, script breakdown, and shot listing.
- Operate professional video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to capture high-quality footage on location and in the studio.
- Edit raw footage into engaging, polished video content using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
- Incorporate motion graphics, visual effects, and sound design to enhance storytelling and production value.
- Collaborate closely with producers, journalists, and other team members to understand project requirements and achieve desired outcomes.
- Manage and organize media assets, ensuring proper archiving and accessibility.
- Maintain and troubleshoot video equipment, ensuring all gear is in optimal working condition.
- Adhere to broadcast standards, brand guidelines, and project deadlines.
- Stay updated with new video technologies, editing techniques, and industry trends.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating professional video cameras and associated equipment (lenses, tripods, stabilizers).
- Expertise in video editing software, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Strong understanding of lighting techniques for various shooting environments (indoor, outdoor, studio).
- Solid knowledge of audio recording and mixing principles.
- Proven ability to tell compelling stories through visual media.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
