We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Vehicle Mechanic to join our dynamic team at Roath Road Garage. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and tyre rotations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using specialized diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Carry out repairs on engines, braking systems, steering and suspension, transmission, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct MOT pre-checks and prepare vehicles to meet regulatory standards.
- Replace and repair faulty parts and components as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, parts used, and hours spent on each job.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues, recommended repairs, and estimated costs.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and workshop procedures.
- Keep workshop area clean, tidy, and organized.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated with automotive advancements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Mechanic or Technician.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle systems.
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Valid UK Driving License.
- Possession of own basic hand tools (specialized tools provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
- MOT Tester certification.
- Experience with specific diagnostic software (e.g., Snap-on, Autel).
- Familiarity with various vehicle makes and models.
