Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload packages from trailers, trucks, and conveyor belts.
- Sort packages by destination, ensuring accurate placement in designated areas.
- Scan package labels and input information into the tracking system as needed.
- Handle packages of varying sizes and weights, up to 70 lbs. independently and up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company standards.
- Operate sorting equipment and other warehouse machinery as instructed after proper training.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and meet daily deadlines.
- Adhere to all UPS policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety guidelines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate package sorting and handling.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to work consistently in various weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physically demanding role.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
- A track record of reliability and punctuality in previous employment.
