Job Description
The University of Houston invites applications for a University Professor position across various departments and colleges. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses within your area of expertise, employing effective and engaging pedagogical methods.
- Conduct original, high-quality research leading to peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals and presentations at national/international conferences.
- Actively seek and secure external grant funding to support research activities and build a sustainable research program.
- Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students, including supervising theses and dissertations, fostering their academic and professional growth.
- Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment within your department and college.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and service activities.
- Engage with the local, national, and international academic communities through collaborations and professional affiliations.
- Maintain an active and visible scholarly profile consistent with a Tier One research university.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant academic discipline from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated excellence in research with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications.
- Evidence of effective teaching at the university level.
