Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients to understand their financial needs and offer appropriate loan products.
  • Evaluate loan applications by gathering and analyzing financial information, credit histories, and other relevant data.
  • Assess creditworthiness and risk factors, making informed recommendations on loan approvals or rejections.
  • Prepare comprehensive loan proposals, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Union Bank's lending policies and procedures.
  • Guide clients through the entire loan application and approval process, providing clear explanations and excellent customer service.
  • Achieve assigned individual and team loan targets and growth objectives.
  • Monitor loan performance and conduct regular follow-ups with clients to ensure timely repayments.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitive offerings, and regulatory changes within the financial services industry.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the bank’s loan portfolio in the Ikot Nkan, Calabar region.
  • Ensure full compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar lending role within a financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of lending principles, credit analysis, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Results-oriented with a strong track record of achieving sales/lending targets.
