Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders and requisitions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Support the procurement team in negotiating prices, terms, and conditions with vendors.
- Monitor inventory levels and identify purchasing needs to prevent stockouts.
- Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Help to evaluate supplier performance based on quality, price, and delivery speed.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., finance, logistics, production) to ensure seamless procurement processes.
- Prepare various procurement reports and analyses to aid decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all company procurement policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant regulations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a procurement, purchasing, or administrative support role, preferably within an FMCG environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of procurement software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, APICS).
- Familiarity with Nigerian market dynamics and supplier landscape.
- Experience with contract management and vendor relationship management.
