Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team in Coconut Grove, Miami. This critical role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our facilities and equipment, maintaining the high standards of quality and productivity that Unilever is known for. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled duties, including installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes. This position requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent technical skills across various disciplines, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will work closely with production teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to minimize downtime, optimize performance, and ensure a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all facility equipment, machinery, and production lines to ensure optimal performance and extend asset lifespan.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to identify root causes of malfunctions and implement effective repairs.
- Execute repairs and replacements of faulty equipment components, including motors, pumps, valves, sensors, and control systems, following safety protocols.
- Conduct electrical installations, wiring, and repairs of control panels, ensuring compliance with local codes and company standards.
- Collaborate with production personnel to understand equipment issues, prioritize repairs, and minimize disruption to manufacturing schedules.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work performed, parts used, and equipment history, utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations, actively participating in safety initiatives and promoting a safe work culture.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, providing technical expertise and support during setup and testing phases.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven ability to repair and maintain complex machinery.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including reading schematics and working with 480V/277V systems.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including component repair and system diagnostics.
- Familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems for troubleshooting and basic programming.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Forklift operation certification.
- Prior experience in the consumer goods or food & beverage manufacturing industry.
