Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor assigned production machinery efficiently and safely, ensuring output meets production targets.
- Perform routine quality checks on products and packaging, documenting findings accurately and promptly reporting any deviations.
- Conduct regular machine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical and operational issues, escalating complex problems to maintenance or supervisory staff.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe and hygienic production environment.
- Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and cleaning procedures between production runs.
- Accurately record production data, including downtime, output, and material usage.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to achieve production goals.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating manufacturing or production machinery, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to identify and address machine issues.
- Ability to understand and follow complex instructions and technical manuals.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and machine interface operation.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Forklift truck license (reach or counterbalance) is an advantageous but not essential.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
