Job Description
As a Logistics Coordinator at Unilever, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of our world-renowned products from manufacturing facilities to distribution centers and ultimately to our valued customers across the region. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and carriers, negotiating rates and service levels.
- Track and trace shipments, providing regular updates to internal stakeholders on status and potential delays.
- Process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Investigate and resolve logistics-related issues, such as shipping discrepancies, damages, or delivery exceptions.
- Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency, leveraging data and analytics.
- Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, inventory movements, and supplier performance.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to align logistics operations with business needs.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant domestic and international shipping regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain and logistics department.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation coordination.
- Proven knowledge of freight forwarding, customs procedures, and international shipping regulations.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., TMS, WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or other large-scale ERP systems.
- Certifications in logistics or supply chain (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
- Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish) is a plus, given the Miami location.
- Prior experience working within the consumer goods or FMCG industry.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
