Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Teller Accountant to join our dynamic team in Victoria Island, Lagos. Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, and bill payments.
- Manage and balance cash drawer daily, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established cash handling procedures.
- Verify customer identities and transaction authenticity to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with AML/CFT regulations.
- Assist customers with inquiries, account opening procedures, and provide comprehensive information on UBA products and services.
- Reconcile daily transactions and resolve any discrepancies promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a high level of customer service, building rapport and trust with all branch visitors.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell bank products and services to meet customer needs and branch targets.
- Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with other branch staff to ensure smooth and efficient branch operations.
- Generate and review daily transaction reports as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cash handling and transaction processing.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles.

Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND/BSc in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a bank teller or similar role.
- Familiarity with UBA's products, services, and operational procedures.
- Experience with core banking applications and teller systems.
- Demonstrated ability to meet targets and contribute to team goals.
