Kip McGrath Education Centre Penarth is seeking enthusiastic and highly skilled Tutors to join our dynamic team, delivering exceptional private and online Maths and English lessons. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, engaging, and personalised Maths and English tutoring sessions to students aged 6-16, both privately (in-centre or potentially home-based by arrangement) and online.
- Customise lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet individual student learning styles, academic goals, and specific areas for improvement, utilising Kip McGrath resources.
- Monitor student progress diligently, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods as necessary to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance using our proprietary learning management systems and communicate findings.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements, fostering a collaborative learning partnership.
- Uphold the high standards of teaching and student care synonymous with the Kip McGrath brand, creating a positive, safe, and encouraging learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities and team meetings to enhance tutoring skills and stay updated on curriculum changes and best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong academic background with a degree or equivalent qualification in English, Maths, Education, or a related field.
- Proven ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely, adapting to various learning paces and abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for teaching and helping young people succeed.
- Proficiency in using online teaching platforms and digital learning resources.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) due to working with children.
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant prior experience (minimum 1 year) in teaching or tutoring Maths and/or English.
- Experience with the UK National Curriculum, particularly Key Stages 2, 3, and 4.
- Familiarity with Kip McGrath's teaching methodologies and learning materials.
- Ability to tutor across a broad age range and multiple levels within Maths and English.
- Experience in both face-to-face and online educational delivery environments.
