Job Description
Roehl Transport is seeking experienced and dedicated Cross-Border CDL Truck Drivers for routes between the United States and Saskatchewan, Canada. This unique opportunity is tailored for American drivers looking to expand their horizons and take on the challenge of international logistics. As a Cross-Border Truck Driver with Roehl, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across the U.S./Canadian border, primarily serving the Saskatchewan region. This role requires a strong understanding of customs procedures, excellent communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to safety and compliance. You will be operating state-of-the-art equipment, meticulously maintained to ensure reliability and comfort on long hauls. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle across U.S. and Canadian borders, specifically to Saskatchewan.
- Transport various types of freight, adhering to all federal, state, provincial, and company regulations.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly, including logs, customs declarations, and delivery receipts.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customs officials, and customers regarding load status and any potential delays.
- Adhere to 'The Roehl Way of Protective Driving' principles and all safety protocols.
- Manage hours of service (HOS) in compliance with both FMCSA and Canadian ELD regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while representing Roehl Transport.
- Secure cargo properly according to company and industry standards.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Valid U.S. Passport or Enhanced CDL
- Ability to cross the U.S.-Canadian border without restriction
- Clean driving record (MVR) and CSA score
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of FMCSA and Canadian transportation regulations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with ELD (Electronic Logging Device) systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with cross-border freight transportation
- Familiarity with Saskatchewan geography and routes
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- TWIC card
