Job Description
Matadi Voyage is actively seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Travel Consultant specializing in Ticketing & Visa services to join our dynamic team in Matadi. This pivotal role requires an individual with a profound understanding of global travel systems, airline ticketing procedures, and international visa regulations. As a Travel Consultant, you will be the cornerstone of our client’s travel experience, from the initial consultation to the successful completion of their journey. You will be responsible for expertly advising clients on travel itineraries, booking flights and other travel components using Global Distribution Systems (GDS), and meticulously managing visa applications to various countries. Your expertise will ensure our clients receive accurate, timely, and efficient service, making their travel planning effortless and stress-free. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget, offering tailored travel solutions.
- Utilize Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo to search, book, and issue airline tickets, hotel reservations, and other travel components.
- Process ticket re-issues, re-validations, and cancellations efficiently, adhering to airline and agency policies.
- Provide expert advice on international visa requirements, gather necessary documentation, and meticulously prepare and submit visa applications to relevant embassies or consulates.
- Stay updated on the latest airline rules, tariffs, fare structures, and international travel regulations, including health and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed client records, bookings, and financial transactions.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and travel emergencies with professionalism and resolve issues promptly.
- Actively promote and sell travel packages, ancillary services, and travel insurance.
- Liaise effectively with airlines, hotels, tour operators, and visa processing centers.
- Prepare travel documents, itineraries, and confirmations for clients.
- Contribute to achieving sales targets and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Travel Consultant with strong ticketing and visa processing expertise.
- Proficiency in using at least one major Global Distribution System (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
- In-depth knowledge of airline ticketing procedures, fare rules, and IATA regulations.
- Comprehensive understanding of international visa requirements for various countries.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal) in French and English.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Problem-solving aptitude and ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
Preferred Qualifications
- IATA certification or equivalent travel industry recognized qualification.
- Fluency in Lingala or Kikongo.
- Experience with corporate travel management.
- Familiarity with travel CRM software.
- Prior experience working in the Matadi, Kongo-Central Province travel market.
