Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Travel Consultant with a strong focus on ticketing and visa services to join our vibrant team in Matadi, Kongo-Central Province. As a Travel Consultant, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients, guiding them through their travel planning process from initial inquiry to post-travel follow-up. Your core responsibilities will include expertly handling flight reservations, issuing tickets, managing changes, and providing comprehensive assistance with various visa applications. This role requires an individual with exceptional customer service skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of travel regulations and Global Distribution Systems (GDS). You will be instrumental in building lasting relationships with our clients by offering personalized travel advice, identifying their unique needs, and recommending the best travel options that align with their preferences and budget. Key Responsibilities
- Process flight reservations, issue tickets, and manage changes, cancellations, and rebookings accurately using Global Distribution Systems (GDS).
- Provide expert guidance and assistance to clients regarding visa application requirements, procedures, and documentation for various destinations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of airline rules and regulations, fare structures, and visa policies.
- Advise clients on travel itineraries, travel insurance, accommodation, and other travel-related services.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide timely and efficient support throughout the travel booking process.
- Promote and sell travel packages, tours, and ancillary services to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, airlines, and visa processing centers.
- Process payments, maintain accurate records, and generate reports as required.
- Stay informed about industry trends, destination information, and technological advancements in travel.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Travel Consultant, specifically in ticketing and visa processing.
- Proficiency in at least one major Global Distribution System (GDS) such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
- Excellent knowledge of international travel regulations, visa requirements for various countries, and airline ticketing procedures.
- Strong sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to close sales and build client rapport.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and French.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling bookings and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- IATA Foundation Diploma or equivalent certification.
- Specific experience with Amadeus GDS.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Experience living or working abroad, enhancing knowledge of diverse cultures and travel needs.
- Multilingual abilities, especially in local languages of DRC (e.g., Lingala, Kikongo).
