As a pivotal member of our remote travel consultancy team, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our diverse membership base, expertly guiding them through every step of their travel planning journey. Your responsibilities will span from initial consultation to post-trip follow-up. This includes providing expert advice on an extensive array of travel options, from popular cruise lines and all-inclusive resorts to bespoke international tours, domestic getaways, and hidden gems off the beaten path. You will meticulously research, price, and book flights, accommodations, car rentals, excursions, and travel insurance, ensuring every detail aligns perfectly with the member’s preferences and budget.
You will utilize your exceptional active listening and communication skills to thoroughly understand individual member needs, aspirations, and travel styles. Based on this understanding, you will offer personalized recommendations and creatively solve any potential travel-related challenges, providing peace of mind and fostering lasting relationships built on trust and reliability. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with members to understand their travel preferences, budgets, and needs.
- Research, recommend, and book various travel components including flights, hotels, cruises, car rentals, and tours.
- Provide expert advice on destinations, travel restrictions, visa requirements, and travel insurance options.
- Utilize GDS (Global Distribution System) and other booking platforms efficiently.
- Process bookings, payments, and confirmations accurately and promptly.
- Handle member inquiries and resolve travel-related issues with professionalism and urgency.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell travel products and services.
- Stay informed about travel industry trends, new destinations, and supplier promotions.
- Maintain detailed member records and communicate effectively through phone, email, and virtual meetings.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Travel Consultant or Travel Agent.
- Proven sales and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong geographical knowledge and destination expertise.
- Proficiency in using travel booking systems (e.g., Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo) or willingness to quickly learn.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High-speed internet access and a dedicated home office space.
Preferred Qualifications
- Travel certifications (e.g., CTA, CTC, DS).
- Experience with CRM software.
