Key Responsibilities
- Translate a wide range of content including technical documentation, marketing copy, website content, software UI/UX, legal documents, and internal communications from English into target languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese) and vice versa, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural relevance, and consistency.
- Localize software and application interfaces, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience for non-English speaking users while maintaining technical accuracy.
- Conduct thorough proofreading and editing of translated materials to guarantee grammatical correctness, stylistic appropriateness, and adherence to company terminology and brand voice.
- Collaborate closely with product development, marketing, legal, and customer support teams to understand translation requirements and deliver high-quality, timely linguistic solutions.
- Develop and maintain translation memories, glossaries, and style guides to ensure consistency across all translated content and streamline future translation efforts.
- Research and understand industry-specific terminology and complex technical concepts to accurately convey information in an accessible manner.
- Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Required Skills
- Native-level fluency in English and at least two other major international languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese), with proven professional translation experience.
- Exceptional written communication and grammatical skills in all working languages, demonstrating a strong command of style and tone.
- Proven experience with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Memsource) and familiarity with translation memory and terminology management.
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity to adapt content for specific target audiences, ensuring messages are culturally appropriate and impactful.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure, consistently delivering high-quality work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools and platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and collaborate constructively as part of a diverse team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related field.
- Previous experience translating technical or IT-related content, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
- Familiarity with localization best practices and Quality Assurance (QA) processes in the software development lifecycle.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, understanding sprint cycles and iterative workflows.
