Key Responsibilities
- Unload merchandise from trucks and transport it to the sales floor or stockroom efficiently and safely.
- Process new inventory, including sorting, ticketing, tagging, and hanging items according to company standards and procedures.
- Stock shelves, racks, and displays, ensuring products are well-presented, properly priced, and easily accessible for customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and receiving areas, by performing tasks like sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) safely and effectively, after receiving proper training and certification.
- Assist in preparing the store for daily opening, which may include setting up promotional displays or signage, and ensuring all areas are customer-ready.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a secure workplace for yourself and your colleagues.
- Support inventory management tasks, including counting and reporting discrepancies as needed, to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve nightly operational goals and maintain a positive and productive work atmosphere.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support overall store operations and contribute to the success of the team.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistently during night shifts (e.g., 10 PM – 7 AM or similar hours).
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and perform bending and reaching tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain store standards.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and commitment to attendance.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures in a retail or warehouse environment.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in retail, warehouse, stockroom, or logistics operations.
- Familiarity with operating material handling equipment like pallet jacks.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with inventory processing and merchandising techniques.
