Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Tiler to join our expert construction team in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. As a Tiler, you will be instrumental in the final stages of our building projects, responsible for the precise installation of various types of tiles on floors and walls, ensuring an impeccable finish that meets our stringent quality standards and design specifications. This role requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of tiling techniques, and the ability to work efficiently and independently while also collaborating effectively with other tradespersons. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for tiling, including cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate waterproofing or primers.
- Measure and cut tiles accurately using hand and power tools, ensuring minimal waste and precise fit.
- Lay tiles in various patterns and designs on floors and walls, ensuring correct alignment, spacing, and level.
- Apply grout correctly and uniformly, ensuring clean lines and watertight seals.
- Perform tile repairs and replacements as needed, matching existing patterns and materials.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and design requirements.
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing tools and materials.
- Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other construction professionals to ensure timely project completion.
- Inspect finished work for quality, ensuring adherence to design specifications and client expectations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Tiler in commercial or residential construction.
- Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and laying various tile materials (ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic).
- Expertise in surface preparation, grouting, and sealing techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality finishes.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks for extended periods.
- Familiarity with various tiling tools and equipment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
