Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tiler to join our dynamic construction and interior finishing team. As a Tiler at C-WOOD CONSTRUCTION NIGERIA LIMITED, you will be instrumental in transforming spaces through precision tile installation, contributing significantly to the aesthetic and functional quality of our projects. This role demands an individual with exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a comprehensive understanding of various tiling techniques and materials. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces, accurately cutting and laying tiles, applying grout, and ensuring a flawless finish for both interior and exterior applications.
Your expertise will cover a wide range of surfaces, including floors, walls, and sometimes custom architectural features. You will work with diverse tile types such as ceramic, porcelain, natural stone (marble, granite, slate), mosaics, and more, ensuring each project meets our stringent quality and design specifications. A key aspect of this role involves interpreting blueprints and design specifications to execute precise layouts, ensuring patterns are aligned and surfaces are level and consistent. Safety is paramount; thus, adherence to all company and industry safety protocols is a non-negotiable requirement. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare various surfaces (floors, walls, ceilings) for tiling, including cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary primers or waterproofing membranes.
- Accurately measure, cut, and shape tiles using manual and power cutting tools to fit specific areas and designs.
- Layout and install different types of tiles (ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic, etc.) according to architectural drawings and design specifications.
- Apply appropriate adhesives, mortars, and grouts, ensuring uniform coverage and a clean, durable finish.
- Ensure all tiled surfaces are level, plumb, and square, maintaining consistent joint widths and patterns.
- Remove and dispose of old tiles and debris responsibly, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Perform minor repairs to existing tile work, including regrouting or replacing damaged tiles.
- Inspect finished tile work for quality, ensuring aesthetic appeal and structural integrity.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies on every job site.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including carpenters, plumbers, and electricians, to ensure seamless project execution.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in tile installation techniques.
- Proficiency in using a variety of tiling tools (tile cutters, trowels, levels, grinders, etc.).
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills for accurate cutting and layout.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity for prolonged work.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and design specifications.
- Knowledge of different tile materials, adhesives, and grouts.
