Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our dynamic team in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products according to established quality standards and engineering specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments, gauges, and testing equipment to verify product dimensions, tolerances, and functional requirements.
- Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials or products, collaborating with production and engineering teams on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate quality records, inspection reports, and documentation for traceability and audit purposes.
- Conduct visual inspections for defects, cosmetic flaws, and proper assembly, ensuring adherence to aesthetic and functional requirements.
- Assist in the development and improvement of inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality control plans.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality management system requirements (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Provide feedback and training to production personnel on quality standards and best practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in quality control or inspection in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to use various measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in a relevant field.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Certification from ASQ (American Society for Quality) or similar professional body.
- Prior experience in the electric vehicle or high-tech manufacturing sector.
