As an Inventory Associate, you will be responsible for a wide array of tasks crucial to our daily operations, including receiving, stocking, organizing, and distributing parts and materials. You will utilize Tesla’s advanced inventory management systems to maintain accurate records, conduct regular cycle counts, and identify discrepancies. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure that all inventory movements are accurately documented, and that parts are readily available for service technicians. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and accurately verify incoming shipments of vehicles, parts, and materials against purchase orders.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage or discrepancies, documenting and reporting any issues promptly.
- Efficiently and safely store inventory in designated locations within the warehouse or service center.
- Maintain precise inventory records using Tesla's internal inventory management software.
- Perform regular cycle counts and conduct physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
- Prepare and stage parts for service technicians, ensuring timely delivery and availability.
- Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse/inventory area.
- Process outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and coordinating with carriers.
- Assist with material handling, loading, and unloading as needed, potentially operating forklifts or other equipment.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with service, logistics, and supply chain teams to optimize inventory flow and resolve issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of more efficient inventory practices.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Experience in the automotive or technology industry.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve inventory-related issues.
