Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and coach a team of retail assistants to achieve daily operational goals and uphold Tesco’s service standards.
- Oversee the efficient execution of departmental tasks, including merchandising, stock replenishment, and inventory control.
- Ensure outstanding customer service is consistently delivered, handling customer inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
- Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new team members, ensuring they understand policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain high standards of store cleanliness, organization, and visual presentation within your assigned department.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and security procedures to ensure a safe environment for both colleagues and customers.
- Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets, managing labor costs, and optimizing store profitability.
- Handle cash operations, including till reconciliation and banking procedures, with accuracy and integrity.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the overall efficiency of store operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a retail environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on coaching and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Solid understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric approach.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Experience with a major retail chain or grocery store operations.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and empower a team to exceed expectations.
- Knowledge of local market trends and customer demographics in St. Petersburg.
