Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor network performance, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security for all network services.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network-related issues, providing timely resolution.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Participate in the planning, testing, and deployment of network upgrades and new technologies.
- Ensure network security best practices are followed, implementing and managing firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., systems, applications, security) to integrate network solutions effectively.
- Automate network tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) where applicable.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network engineering.
- Manage vendor relationships and procurement of network hardware and software.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Cisco, Juniper, or other major network vendor equipment.
- Proficiency in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel).
- Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other network services.
- Experience with network security concepts and technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and protocols (SNMP, NetFlow).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of SDN/NFV concepts and technologies.
- Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and service management best practices.
