Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our vibrant Human Resources team in Champaign, IL. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting employee success and contributing to a positive workplace culture within a global telecommunications leader. As an HR Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our HR department, providing comprehensive administrative support and ensuring the smooth execution of various HR functions. You will be the first point of contact for many employee inquiries, assisting with onboarding, maintaining accurate employee records, and supporting recruitment efforts. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the entire HR lifecycle in a fast-paced and supportive environment. You will work closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition Specialists, and other HR colleagues, learning best practices and contributing to initiatives that enhance our employee experience. Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and preparing reports.
- Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and managing applicant tracking.
- Support new hire onboarding activities, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for all new employees.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system and personnel files, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits, escalating complex issues to appropriate HR professionals.
- Assist in the coordination of HR programs and events, such as training sessions, employee engagement activities, and performance reviews.
- Prepare HR-related documentation, including offer letters, employment verifications, and status change forms.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as needed, contributing to process improvements and strategic goals.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in a customer service or administrative role.
- Familiarity with telecommunications industry practices.
- Ability to speak French (asset for a Canadian-based company, though not mandatory for US role).
