Job Description

Vodacom Congo is seeking a dedicated IT Equipment Support Technician to join our vibrant team in Lisala, Mongala Province. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software, including workstations, laptops, servers, network devices, and peripherals.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot technical issues related to IT equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on all IT equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Provide technical support to end-users on hardware and software problems, either in person or remotely.
  • Manage inventory of IT equipment and spare parts, ensuring adequate stock levels and accurate record-keeping.
  • Document all support activities, resolutions, and system configurations for knowledge management and future reference.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and departments to resolve complex technical challenges and implement new solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies, security protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Assist in the deployment of new IT infrastructure and systems as required.
  • Provide training and guidance to users on the proper use of IT equipment and software applications.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience of at least 2 years in IT support, hardware troubleshooting, and network maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of computer hardware components and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP) and basic networking concepts (LAN/WAN).
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving software and hardware conflicts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in English and French (Lingala/Swahili a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic knowledge of IT security principles and data protection.
  • Physical ability to lift and move IT equipment when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar IT certifications.
  • Experience with telecommunications equipment and infrastructure, specifically mobile network components.
  • Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools and processes (e.g., ITIL).
  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
