Job Description

CLP Group is seeking a talented and experienced Technical Writer to join our dynamic team in Hong Kong. You will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining a wide range of technical documents, from detailed system specifications and comprehensive user manuals to robust API documentation and clear policy guides. Key Responsibilities

  • Research, write, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documentation for software, hardware, systems, and processes, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Collaborate proactively with engineers, product managers, and other subject matter experts to gather information, define documentation requirements, and validate content.
  • Translate complex technical information into easily understandable content for various target audiences, adapting tone and style as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain documentation standards, templates, and style guides to ensure consistency and brand alignment across all materials.
  • Create and manage online help systems, user manuals, API documentation, release notes, white papers, internal process documents, and training materials.
  • Participate actively in review cycles, incorporating feedback from stakeholders to refine documentation and ensure technical accuracy and linguistic quality.
  • Proactively identify documentation gaps, propose improvements, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance overall content quality, usability, and accessibility.
  • Manage documentation projects from inception to completion, adhering to strict deadlines and high-quality standards.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices in technical writing, content strategy, and documentation tools and technologies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Technical Writer in a technology-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong grasp of grammar, style, and syntax.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex technical concepts quickly and translate them into clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Proficiency with modern documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Oxygen XML Editor, MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker) and content management systems.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative writing platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure sectors.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and iterative documentation processes.
  • Experience with DITA or other structured authoring standards.
  • Proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a significant advantage.
  • Certification in Technical Writing or a related professional credential.
