Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons across primary and secondary school subjects, adhering to national curriculum standards and educational best practices.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to active learning and student well-being.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and implement differentiated instruction strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to foster a supportive educational ecosystem for all students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting respect, discipline, and a strong work ethic among students.
- Participate actively in school activities, parent-teacher meetings, and continuous professional development workshops to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the school community.
- Prepare and grade assignments, tests, and reports accurately to monitor and communicate student performance and development.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (e.g., Pedagogy, specific subject matter with pedagogical training).
- Proven ability to teach multiple subjects effectively across primary and secondary levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in French and Swahili/Tshiluba (local languages) is a significant advantage.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and time-management abilities.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to diverse cultural backgrounds and varying learning capabilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel) for record-keeping and lesson preparation.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with educational best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience teaching in rural or underserved communities.
- Knowledge and practical experience with pedagogical approaches specific to the DRC national curriculum.
- Ability to integrate technology and digital tools into the learning process effectively.
- Certification in First Aid or emergency response.
- Experience in curriculum development or educational program design.
